We want you to feel good about every reading you buy from us. If something goes wrong, or the reading just does not feel right, we want to make it easy to get your money back.
1. The short version
- 30-day refund window from the date of purchase.
- Applies to all paid readings — Birth Chart and Compatibility.
- No questions asked for the first 30 days.
- Refund issued to the original payment method, processed by Paddle (our merchant of record).
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to all paid digital readings purchased through tarotbyhand.com:
- Birth Chart reading ($9.99)
- Compatibility (synastry) reading ($14.99)
Our three-card tarot reading is free and therefore not subject to this policy.
3. How to request a refund
Send an email to hello@tarotbyhand.com within 30 days of your purchase, including:
- The email address you used at checkout.
- The Paddle order ID from your receipt (helpful but not required).
- Optionally, a brief note about what was wrong — feedback helps us improve, but is not required to get the refund.
We confirm refund requests within 2 business days and Paddle typically returns the money to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
4. Reasons we encourage refund requests
We refund without question if:
- The reading failed to generate, or the page errored after your payment.
- The reading was empty, truncated, or visibly broken.
- The reading does not feel useful or accurate to you.
- You changed your mind within 30 days.
5. When we may decline a refund
We may decline a refund only if:
- The request is made more than 30 days after purchase.
- There is clear evidence of abuse — for example, the same person repeatedly buying a reading and requesting a refund.
- The payment was already refunded or charged back through your bank.
6. Chargebacks
Before opening a chargeback with your bank, please email us first — we will almost always resolve your case faster than a chargeback would. If you have already opened a chargeback, refunds are then handled through your bank and Paddle's dispute process.
7. Statutory rights (EU / UK)
Buyers located in the European Union or United Kingdom have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital products under EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, unless they have expressly waived this right by agreeing to immediate delivery before the 14 days elapse. Our 30-day no-questions-asked window is broader than this statutory minimum and applies regardless.
